We Get To October 28

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation is a gift from God. Christianity is the only religion on earth that does not require works to get into heaven. Why? If God based my eternity on how much I pray or how much piety I can achieve, it would make the cross useless.

There are false religions that require you to do certain things to obtain salvation, a point system that guarantees you an eternal position in heaven—the more points, the better the mansion.

We are saved by grace and not by works. Although your works are recorded in heaven, they won’t get you to heaven. So, what motivates me to do things for the Lord? I know one day I will see Jesus face to face. I don’t want to say I didn’t do anything to help save others.

If the building you were in caught on fire, wouldn’t you sound the alarm? Many, many people are facing the fire of eternity. If you share Jesus with someone and they accept Jesus as their savior, you have covered many sins and saved them from eternal life.

But, it’s not I who leads someone to Jesus Christ; it’s the Holy Spirit, next time you see someone go up to the altar to accept Jesus, think how much work the Holy Spirit put into that person’s soul.

Oh! That God would use us as a vessel to share His love and salvation with others! With some religions, you’ve got to share certain things; true Christians get to share certain things; one letter makes all the difference between got to & get to. Gotters do it out of legalism, and Getters do it out of love.
