Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
I find it interesting that King David used the word taste to describe how to discover the Lord. We, humans, have five senses, and David uses two senses in this one verse. Ironically, the first sense used is taste, but how often have you ever deployed your sense of taste before your sense of sight? Or your sense of smell before you taste something?
To taste is to experience something, to test something. The tongue is a multi-use organ allowing us to eat, swallow and communicate with others, and it distinguishes between four common tastes: sweet, sour, salty, and bitter.
Psalm 119:103
God’s words are sweeter than honey.
God is asking us to taste or experience His word by reading your bible, asking Him for revelation about Him.
But David deploys another sense in this verse, and it’s a sense that God values in us, Faith, it’s very pleasing to Him: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Another way of experiencing God is to approach Him during your time of need, call on His name and experience His breakthrough.
Have you ever heard the term that someone has a sixth sense? It’s a good thing, and now you can have a sixth sense too, Trust in God, or have Faith in God to help you.
Here’s the most tasteful thing about God, when you trust Him to help you, you get blessed! After that, go back to verse one:
Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
He is: Jehova-Shammah
The Lord is There
Blessing’s
