The God Who Hears April 29

Ezekiel 22:30

“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”

Have you ever had someone say to you “I’m standing in the Gap for so & so?” This is the bible verse they are referring to, and what they are talking about is praying for someone, or a country, political leaders or maybe a need that this person could have.

What God really needs you to do is pray for their salvation, that their name would be found in the Lambs Book of Life. I love this saying “Your Prayers Matter!” Because they do.

A few years ago I had an elderly neighbor lady that didn’t much care for me. When I would come home after work she would be sitting outside smoking a cigarette, put the cigarette out and go back inside the house every time I pulled in my driveway. She was never rude to me but it was obvious she didn’t care to be around me.

One day I went outside and the ambulance was next door, all those years of smoking had caught up with her, and like a domino effect all these other health problems crashed down on her, soon she was in a nursing home.

While praying one morning I thought about this verse and realized she had no one to stand in the GAP for her. I started praying that the Lord would heal her, I spent considerable time praying and really believing she would come out of this for about two or three months, then she died. I was shocked, to be honest.

Just being honest I said to the Lord, “What did it matter God? I spent all those hours praying for her and she died?” When you think your prayers had no effect it can really hurt, and be very discouraging, that’s how the devil wants you to think.

That night I had a very vivid dream, I was driving my bus and my neighbor lady stepped onto the bus I got very excited to see her! As I drove you could feel all the bumps in the road and hear the engine noise, it felt so very real.

I said “Hi Miss ____! How are you?” As she sat down in my bus she turned into a nurse a completely different person sitting in the chair. And that was the end of my dream or in this case a night vision.

When I woke up I knew exactly what the dream meant, my prayers had allowed a nurse to lead her to the Lord in her last moments of life, the bus represented my ministry and they had both gotten on because of my prayers and the great effectiveness of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:11

“Everyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame”

Your Prayers Matter, even though you don’t see it happening, Trust in Him.
