My Helper March 22

Ephesians 6:21-22-23

But that ye may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things

Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Tychicus is mentioned 5 times in the bible, He is always mentioned with great qualities. He was Beloved, A faithful minister in the Lord, a fellow servant with Paul, a reliable source.

His name comes from the Greek word Tuchikos which means: Fortuitous, fortunate, it derives from other Greek words, bring to pass, make ready, enjoy, refresh.

His purpose in this visit to the church at Ephesus: is, that you might know our affairs. Paul is sending him out to encourage the church as to what he has accomplished. These testimonies will comfort your hearts.

Then Paul closes this beautiful description of Tychicus with these words: from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Notice Paul did not say: “and the Holy Spirit.” This is because the Holy Spirit dwelt in Tychicus, and Tychicus carried all the qualities of the Holy Spirit with him wherever he went bringing the testimonies of Christ and how Paul in bonds represented the gospel in hardship!

He has the gift and call of an evangelist: he sees the greatness in hardships, in hard times, hard economy, they encourage and exhort. They blow in and build you up with faith, bringing you comfort. They encourage you to endure, their testimonies are sure. They bring love and faith, Ambassadors for Christ.

Tychicus not only brought the letter to the Ephesians for Paul, but he also wrote it for Paul, a Father in Christ, not knowing that 2 millennia later, we would still be reading it.

You can have the same Holy Spirit live inside you, you can write a letter for the Father with the pen of your life and give it to the Son. Not only will Jesus read it, but he will help you to re-wright the ending.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
